For about the past year now, I’ve been on a quest. I haven’t talked much about it on here, or any other platforms really which is why I’m sharing it all now! I had no idea that it would turn out the way that it has, but as it has unfolded and evolved, I’m so thankful everyday for the course that it has taken.

So, what’s the quest you ask?!… It’s finding a Siberian Husky puppy!

Unless you’ve gone through the process before, I think the beginning steps of finding a dog is very hard for a first timer to figure out. Where do I look? Who do I ask? Where do I go? etc. As time passed and I got further into searching, I starting getting pretty frustrated that I would never find what I was looking for…but then, I remember how Instagram is such a great community for myself and HIBRID, that I started to explore more within it on the dog front. There are so many beautiful accounts with pups that warm your heart in seconds.

I fell in love with the dogs on one account in particular, and they happen to be the only one who responded back to me with friendly and helpful information. They are Kira, Rush, & Ttauri from Calgary, Alberta and are just the most gorgeous dogs! Their owners are Ian and Amanda Tong, found on Instagram under @bestinsnow and @ms.tonger. They have been such amazing, generous people to me. Taught me more intensively about the breed, answered tons of my questions, shared their past experiences and stories, and have kindly helped guide me to finding a husky of my own.

They are also the ones who introduced me to our amazing breeder, Annette Dionne. Annette runs Nanook Siberians, located in Swan Hills, Alberta. She has been breeding and showing Siberian Huskies for over 30 years. Her knowledge, passion, and love for this breed is exactly what I was looking for in a breeder.I believe that you get the best from people who are truly passionate about what they do. Let’s just say she is a million times more awesome than I ever thought I would find!

I will be there for a few days meeting this awesome group, seeing Canada, and picking up my puppy! (lets pray for good weather and nice airport/cargo staff right?!) He is a male and I am still undecided on his name. I have a few choices that I can’t decide on, so I’m waiting until I meet hime in person! (name suggestions welcome!) If you’d like to follow along on the adventure, you can find us under @hibridhusky for now to keep up!

  1. Aw you’re so lucky!!!! I have a siberian husky but never actually got to see her as a puppy because we adopted her. I don’t think there’s anything more adorable than siberian husky puppies in this world!
