I’m not sure if I’ll be able to put into words how experience this trip was, but I’m going to do my best. So first off, I’ll start by saying….IT.WAS.AWESOME!!!!! I had such a blast with the 5 Points team and all of the shop customers that I got to meet! Venice was such an amazing place and I’m so glad that our location was in the heart of it.
One of the coolest parts of the space I thought was the storefront. Each time a new pop-up shop inhabits the space, they can customize the exterior however they please. This space had the perfect layout to showcase the 5 Points brand, as well as the collaborating brand or designer. The left and top portions of the facade were 5 Points branded and the larger side wall was able to act as the mural display for the opening collections that were to launch. I LOVED the HIBRID wall so much! From having a background in Interior Design and also Graphic Design, it was such a big moment for me to get to see my work up on a large scale surface like this. Mural artist John Dunne, and rest of the 5 Points team did an amazing job hand painting our design to the wall and I could not have asked for anything better!
This here was the interior feature wall that lived right when you walked into the store. It showcases the current collection, its title, and which point of the 5 Points brand it was communicating. (Make, Say, Live, Share, Keep) Mine was the “Live” point through a living/home decor perspective and a reflection of my style combined with the 5 Points brand.
I also LOVED seeing customers and passersby taking their photos outside in front of the mural wall. They all took some great shots! First here is miss Blaise Leone, followed by The Double Take Style, then @anji_rey, and lastly, Dana VanValin.
On my last day in town we hosted a lettering workshop out on the adjoining patio to the store and it was the perfect space for it! Sun, ink, brushes, inspiration…it was awesome. I could have sat there and done it all day. My favorite part of this was meeting new people and watching them take on and learn a new skill and see how much they began to fall in love with it. It truly made me so happy being able to bring that out in them. AND, in case you missed it, our workshop is currently trending at #4 on Trend Hunter which you can read about here: “Creative Lettering Workshops”
This was also my first time visiting LA and I didn’t really know what to expect. I stayed close to our pop-up shop located at 1306 Abbot Kinney Blvd. The street was AUH-MAZING. Every store and eatery had their own personal style and character that I just couldn’t get over. From Urbanic, to Ilan Dei Venice, Kreation, The Piece Collective, General Store, Lemonade, and all the ones I didn’t even get to see. They were so awesome!
This is one of my very sweet friends Heather! She lives right in Venice Beach, so I was so glad she got to be there in town with me, see the collection, meet the 5 Points team, and show me around some of the amazing stops on Abbot Kinney while I was there!
Ilan Dei Venice was such a cool outdoor store we stopped by. It neighbors right next to Urbanic Paper Boutique towards the end of Abbot Kinney. They have awesome planters, outdoor furniture, succulents, air plants, etc.
General Store is also a must when visiting. It sits off Abbot Kinney on Lincoln Street. They also have a location in San Francisco. My favorite thing about this shop is its amazing interior displays, and its wide range of unique products…AND also this huge circle mirror!
I wish it wasn’t the end but thats it! I also wish all walls were painted this color too! If anyone is interested in shopping the HIBRID x 5 Points Collection, it is now available online and 5 Points will still continue to pop up shop on Abbot Kinney until August 15th!
